What is density?

Ever wonder why some toys bob like apples while others zoom to the bottom? Look at this Wood Block! It stays right on top because it’s full of air and light wood. Inside, the tiny pieces are what I call Spread-out bits. They have SO much room to dance and wiggle around, which makes the whole block feel super light! But look down here at this heavy Metal Bolt. It doesn't want to float at all—it goes CLUNK straight to the bottom. That's because it's filled with Packed bits. These little guys are so crowded they’re practically squishin' each other! When things are that crowded, they get heavy and sink. The Water is like a scale, and since those metal bits are way more crowded than the water is, down they go!
