What is the Milky Way?

Think of the Milky Way as a giant, spinnin' cosmic city where gravity holds everything together. Right at the middle is the Galactic Center, a crowded hub packed with millions of old stars glowin' bright like a city’s downtown district. But deep inside that glow lies Sagittarius A-star, a supermassive black hole with so much gravity that it keeps the entire galaxy from flyin' apart. Spinnin' around that center are the long Spiral Arms, curved paths where billions of younger stars are clustered together in massive groups. Way out on one of those quiet suburban streets, we find Our Sun, which is just one of many stars livin' in this huge system.
