What is a flood?

Check it out! Floods are basically what happens when there's way more water than the land can handle. It all starts with HEAVY RAIN, where clouds release a massive amount of water all at once, pourin' down onto the mountains and hills. Normally, the dirt acts like a giant sponge, but when you get SATURATED GROUND, it means the sponge is totally full and can't soak up another drop. Since the ground is full, all that extra water rushes into the nearest stream until you get a RIVER OVERFLOW, where the banks just can't hold it anymore and it spills out over the sides. That spillover leads to LAND FLOODING, where the water takes over the streets and surrounds houses because it has nowhere else to go. Finally, once the rain stops, we see RECEDING WATER, where it slowly drains into pipes and flows back out to the ocean so the land can dry out again! Tiny Concepts.
