What is a dam?

A dam is like a giant machine that turns rushin' water into power for your toys and lights! It all starts here in the Reservoir, which is just a massive lake where we keep all the extra water waitin' for its turn to work. Holdin' all that heavy water back is the Dam Wall—a super thick, strong concrete block that has to be extra tough! When we're ready to make power, the Intake sucks water down a special pipe like a giant straw. That fallin' water hits the Turbine, which is a big wheel that spins round and round really FAST, just like a fan in the wind! That spinnin' energy goes straight into the Generator, which shakes up tiny bits of power to make electricity for the whole city. *WOW!* And if there's ever too much water, it zooms down the Spillway, which is basically a giant safety slide to keep the dam from overflowin'.
