Why does ice float on water?

Check out this ice cube—it’s actually pullin' off a pretty cool magic trick! Normally, water molecules like to zoom and wiggle all over the place, but when they get super cold, they stop dancin' and start grabbin' onto each other's hands. They build this stiff, rigid frame that looks like a tiny crystal playground! Because they’re holdin' hands so firmly, they actually push each other apart, leavin' lots of empty space inside. That extra space means the ice cube has a lower density than the liquid water—basically, it's way lighter for its size than the splashy water around it! Since it’s so light and airy, a force called buoyancy acts like an invisible hand, PUSHIN' that ice cube straight up toward the surface. But check out the submerged part—even though it’s floatin', about ninety percent of the ice stays hidin' under the water! It’s like a secret mountain peak peakin' out to say hello. Tiny Concepts.
